Privacy Informative Regarding the Use of Cookies – Art. 13 of the Privacy Code
Definition of “cookie”.
Cookies are short text fragments (letters and/or numbers) sent by the Site in order to be memorized on your browser of the device you are using (computer, tablet, smartphone). They contain information that can be reused in during the same visit to the Website or at a different time, even days later. Cookies are memorized according to the user’s preferences.Furthermore, with the introduction of HTML5, there are various types of local storage and similar technologies, such as web beacons and transparent GIFs, that can be used to collect information on the user’s behaviour, his or her choices, and the service use. In this document, for the purpose of simplification, we will use the term “cookie” to refer to cookies and all similar technologies.
Types of cookies
Depending on the characteristics and use of the cookies, we can distinguish between two macro-categories:
- Technical or session cookies. These cookies are indispensable for the correct functioning of the Site and are used for managing the login and access to the Site’s functions. The duration of the cookies is strictly limited to the work session (when the browser is closed they are erased), with the exception of cookies with a longer duration that are designed exclusively for recognizing, for a limited period of time, the user’s computer/device – through the use of an alpha-numeric code that is generated during the first access session. Deactivating them compromises the use of services that are accessible through the login. The public part of the Site is still usable. Also in this category, are the c.d. “cookie analytics”, only if used in an aggregated form, to collect and analyse traffic and monitor the services and uses on the Site accessed anonymously. These cookies, without identifying the user, permit (for example) recognizing if the same user connects numerous times. They also allow for system monitoring, in order to improve services and usability. The deactivating this type of cookie can be done without any loss to functionality. These cookies can be used even without the user’s consent.
- Cookies for profiling and marketing. These are permanent cookies that are used to identify (anonymously and not) the user’s preferences and improve his/her navigation experience, creating specific profiles. They are used to send advertising messages in line with the user’s choices regarding web navigation.SPARKLING 18 s.r.l. websites do not use cookies of this type.
Cookies from third parties
When you visit websites, you can receive cookies both from the website you’ve visited (“owners”) and from sites organized by other organizations (“third parties”). The handling of information collected by “third parties” is regulated by other related informative policies that we urge you to refer to. In order to guarantee greater transparency and for your convenience, below you will find a table with the various types of cookies and web addresses of the various informative policies and modalities for the handling of cookies on the part of third parties.

Cookie Duration
Some cookies (session cookies) only remain active until the browser is closed or until the logout command has been given. Other cookies “survive” once the browser has been closed and are also available for future visits by the user. These cookies, called “persistent”, have a duration that is determined by the server at the moment they are created. In some cases a deadline is created, in other cases the duration is unlimited. With the exception of the cookies that have been memorized exclusively for technical purposes, SPARKLING 18 s.r.l. does not use persistent cookies. Anyhow, when navigating on website pages, you can interact with sites that are managed by third parties that can create or modify permanent cookies or profiling cookies.
Handling of cookies
The user can decide whether or not to accept cookies by changing the settings in their browser.
Warning: partially or totally deactivating technical cookies can compromise the use of the functions of the website that are reserved for registered users. On the other hand, the use of public content is possible even when cookies are completely disabled. Disabling “third party” cookies does not compromise navigability in any way. The settings can be defined in a specific way for each site and web application. Furthermore, the best browsers let you create different settings for “privately owned” cookies as well as for “third parties’”. In the option menu of the browser you are using you can manage and define whether or not to accept the different types of cookies and proceed with their removal.
